Multi-Asset Class Investing explains how we bring the benefits of Multi-Asset Class Investing and the College Endowment Model and apply it to our practice and our clients. We believe this is an important and relatively unique approach which we explain in detail. This approach to investing has been used by large institutional investors (pension plans, endowments) and ultra-high net-worth investors for the past 15+ years but many of these strategies have not been available to most investors until recently. Greene Capital’s approach is unique: we invest in 5 asset classes (equities, bonds, gold, and mutual funds using hedge fund and managed futures strategies) with a focus on historic returns, volatility/risk, correlation among these asset classes, and draw-downs. We blend these asset classes to provide good returns over a full investment cycle, with low risk/volatility, low correlation among the asset classes, and acceptable low draw-down of the overall portfolio. In addition, we apply a risk control safety net/regimen designed to avoid the kind of punishing draw-downs that occurred in 2008 to too many investors. All of this is explained in detail in our section on Multi-Asset Class Investing and in our White Paper. The following graphic encapsulates this approach:
